About the Grace Museum:
The Grace Museum is three museums in one: a children's museum with hands-on art, science and technology; an art museum with exhibits of artwork from around the world; and a history museum that explores life in Abilene from 1900 through 1950.
The Grace Museum - usually referred to simply as "The Grace" by locals - is housed in the historic Grace Hotel, which is an attraction all unto itself. Located in Abilene's Downtown, the Grace Museum building is a four-story, 55,000-square-foot construction in a mission-revival style. The first floor includes a marble ballroom, a glass loggia, an enclosed brick courtyard; on the roof is a large, open-air terrace.
The Grace Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., except on Thursday when evening hours are extended to 8 p.m. Also, Thursday evenings from 5-8 p.m. are free to the public. At other times there is a modest admission fee. The museum is closed on Sundays and Mondays, plus major holidays.
