About the Mary Kay Museum:
The headquarters of Mary Kay Cosmetics, founded by Mary Kay Ash, are located in Addison adjacent to North Dallas. And it is inside the company headquarters where the Mary Kay Museum is located.
The museum traces the history of the company and the life of its founder. Among the items on display are awards that Mary Kay Ash received in her lifetime, such as the Horatio Alger Award, a gold medal, she received in 1978.
Also on display are the awards the Mary Kay company gives to its salespeople, some of which are quite lavish: diamond bar pins, diamond rings, cars and the ultimate prize, the pink Cadillac.
Visitor can also see some of Mary Kay's famous gowns and, of course, Mary Kay products down through the years.
The museum is open for self-guided tours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Guided tours are available by appointment Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Call the number listed above at least 72 hours in advance to make reservations.
