About the Art Museum of Southeast Texas:
Located in Downtown Beaumont, the Art Museum of Southeast Texas boasts a permanent collection of around 1,000 pieces - including painting, sculpture, prints, photographs, folk art and decorative arts - from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. The museum emphasizes American art and has a growing regional collection.
The Art Museum of Southeast Texas also hosts 8-10 changing exhibits each year in its Main Gallery. Works of local artists are highlighted in the Cafe Arts Gallery. The museum also offers an interactive children's gallery and a children's computer lab, and is very involved with local schoolchildren.
Admission to the Art Museum of Southeast Texas is free. The museum is open daily; hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays, noon-5 p.m. Sundays.
