About the Clifton Steamboat Museum:
The Clifton Steamboat Museum is dedicated to "Heroes ... Past, Present and Future," with an emphasis on military history and military heroes.
Housed in a 24,000-square foot, 2-story facility, the museum features exhibits on the Battle of San Jacinto, the Republic of Texas and early Texas statehood; the Civil War as it was fought in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana; the Steamboat Era, tracing the heydey of this mode of transport; World Wars I and II; plus the Korean, Vietnam, and Gulf wars.
The complex also includes a tugboat, a foundry, plus a restaurant and the See-Max Theater. The Clifton Steamboat Museum is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
