About the Edison Museum:
Dedicated to the life and work of "America's inventor," Thomas Alva Edison, the Edison Museum is housed in the historic Travis Street Substation in Downtown Beaumont.
What connection did Edison have to Beaumont? We're not sure. But that doesn't mean the city can't have a museum celebrating his work, now, does it? The Edison Museum houses more than 1,400 artifacts from Edison's life, and explores his work through interactive exhibits.
The museum's exhibits include explorations of Edison's invention of the incandescent light bulb; visitors can hear Edison’s first recorded music and view some of his first motion pictures.
The Edison Museum is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and admission is free.
