About the Rio Grande Valley Museum:
The Rio Grande Valley Museum is located at the intersection of Boxwood and Raintree streets, just off Loop 499. This historical museum offers visitors a chance to step back in time and into some of Harlingen's historic buildings from long-ago times.
Visitors can walk through the first hospital in the city (complete with vintage medical tools and supplies), the Paso Real Stagecoach Inn (built during the Civil War), and the home of city founder Lon C. Hill. There are tons of photos and other artifacts from Harlingen's past.
The Rio Grande Valley Museum is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; and on Sunday, 1-4 p.m. There is an admission fee.
