About Buffalo Springs Lake:
Buffalo Springs Lake is a spring-fed body of water in Yellow House Canyon, just five miles east of Lubbock. The area is open to visitors for modest fees, and is one of the popular outdoor recreational spots in the Lubbock area.
Facilities at Buffalo Springs Lake include campsites ranging from primitive to pad sites with full hook-ups. The area is great for birdwatching, and the local chapter of the Audubon Society built the nature trail. There are also hiking and biking trails.
Horseshoe pits and volleyball courts add to the family fun. And of course there's water recreation - beaches, a marina, and two launching ramps for watercraft. The marina includes a restaurant and grocery store. And there is a "party house" for rent for those who aren't into camping.
There is a small gate fee for admission, plus additional fees for any watercraft or dirt bikes being brought in. Camping fees also apply, depending on the type of campsite desired. Yearly passes are also available.
