About the Museum of Texas Tech University:
The Museum of Texas Tech University is a huge facility with a national reputation for excellence. Its permanent collection of more than 2 million objects ranges from the arts to the sciences to the humanities.
The first and second floors of the main building host temporary and permanent exhibits in social sciences, natural sciences, and the visual arts. The Diamond M Galleries wing houses a collection of fine art. The Helen DeVitt Jones Auditorium includes a Sculpure Court.
In addition to the main museum, the Museum of Texas Tech University also encompasses the Moody Planetarium and the Lake Lubbock Landmark archeological site.
The Museum of Texas Tech University is open Tuesday-Wednesday and Friday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Thursdays, 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m.; and Sundays, 1-5 p.m. It is closed on Mondays.
