The Marian Blakemore Planetarium is the only public planetarium in West Texas, and its 40-foot dome is among the largest in the state. This facility is part of the Museum of the Southwest complex.
The Marian Blakemore Planetarium holds regularly scheduled evening programs for the public, many of which are accompanied by star gazing (weather permitting) in an adjacent park. Sunspot viewing is sometimes conducted during daylight hours.
The gallery is open Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and closed Saturday-Monday. Show and special event schedules are available on the Marian Blakemore Planetarium website. Small fees are charged for admission to programs.
