About Lake Nacogdoches:
The City of Nacogdoches is the controlling authority of Lake Nacogdoches, which is a reservoir formed by the impounding of Loco Bayou.
Lake Nacogdoches is located 10 miles west of the city via FM 225. It was created in 1976. The lake has a surface area of 2,212 acres with a maximum depth of 40 feet.
Largemouth bass, bluegill and sunfish are the fish that anglers go after on this lake, and trophy-sized largemouth bass are common here. Crappie and catfish are also present, although in low numbers.
There are two public access facilities to Lake Nacogdoches, Westside Park and Eastside Park, both located off FM 225. Eastside Park is eight miles west of Nacogdoches Loop 224 and includes a one-lane boat ramp (no fee required). Westside Park is nine miles west of Loop 224 and offers a 2-lane boat ramp (no fee required). Call the number above for info on either park or the lake itself.
