About Gruene Hall:
It's the oldest continually operating dance hall in Texas, and still one of the most popular. Gruene Hall (that's pronounced "green") is in the Gruene Historic District in New Braunfels.
It's not much to look at with, with screened in patios to let the air circulate inside. Of course, those screened in walls also let the sounds percolate out onto the streets. And what sounds they've been over the years: George Strait, Bo Diddley, the Dixie Chicks, Jerry Lee Lewis, Garth Brooks and Willie Nelson are among the performers who've graced the Gruene Hall stage over the years.
