About the ArtCentre of Plano:
Located in a renovated, historic building in Downtown Plano, the ArtCentre of Plano is the permanent home of the Plano Repertory, offers a regular slate of stage and vocal performances, houses an art gallery and hosts national touring art shows.
The mission of the center is "to encourage, support and promote excellence, diversity, and vitality in the arts and arts education in the Greater Plano Area."
The building the ArtCentre is housed in once housed the first commercial establishment in the city. It was built in 1854 as a general store, and the property also once included a livery stable.
A calendar on the ArtCentre Web site lists times of performances as well as dates of gallery shows. The ArtCentre of Plano is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Public parking for the ArtCentre of Plano can be found on 15th Street (4-hour limit), in public lots south and west of the ArtCentre, and in a parking garage north of the ArtCentre.
