About Rockport Beach Park:
Rockport Beach Park is on a spit of land that is bracketed on its interior side by Little Bay and on its outward side by Aransas Bay.
The park includes a boat launch and fishing piers, a water skiing loop (in Little Bay), walking trail, picnic cabanas, sand volleyball courts, children's play areas, restrooms and showers.
The highlight for most, however, is the beach itself, a mile-long sandy stretch on the Aransas Bay side. The Rockport Beach Park beach is the first in Texas designated as a "Blue Wave Beach," which means that the beach has been certified as clean and responsibly managed, with the health of its patrons and the environment protected.
Rockport Beach Park is also a great place for windsurfing and birding. It's a wildlife sanctuary, which means pets are not allowed inside the park.
Rockport Beach Park is open Monday-Thursday 5 a.m.-11 p.m. and Friday-Sunday 5 a.m.-midnight. There is an admission fee.
