About the San Angelo River Walk:
The City of San Angelo began a river beautification project in 1986, the culmination of which was San Angelo's very own River Walk. This one is nothing at all like the famous River Walk in San Antonio, which is thickly packed with tourists and lined with hotels, bars, restaurants, shops and more businesses.
The San Angelo River Walk is a 4.5-mile stretch along the Concho River near the heart of the city. Walkers can stroll through beautifully landscaped parks, past imposing homes, near waterfall and fountain features, past a 9-hole golf course, beneath large pecan trees. In other words, this River Walk is made for walkers looking for a pleasant stroll.
The San Angelo River Walk is also used for city events, such as walk-a-thons and running races.
