Arlington is right smack in the middle of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and very nearly in the middle of the U.S., too. The city is only five miles from DFW International Airport and is nearly equidistant between downtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth. And that makes Arlington a great "base" for any trip during which you plan to explore the entire Metroplex.
Arlington is one of the largest and fastest-growing cities in the DFW Metroplex, with a population now surging past 300,000.
It is home to the Six Flags Over Texas amusement park and the adjacent Hurricane Harbor water park. And the Texas Rangers baseball team calls Arlington home, playing in The Ballpark at Arlington.
As with all the thriving and growing cities of the Metroplex, Arlington boasts great shopping and excellent dining options, plus a nice collection of golf courses.
