University of Texas at Arlington Concert Series
Fine Arts Bldg., Irons Recital Hall
Concerts nearly every night in fall and spring feature classical, jazz, instrumental and voice performances. Concerts are free, unless a non-university group is featured, in which case tickets are $5. Call for show schedules and reservations.

"Sunday Evening in the Park"
Veterans Park
3600 W. Arkansas Lane
Concerts and live performances held each May and June on Sunday evenings. Performances include bands, orchestras, string ensembles, singers and individual musicians. Free. Call for schedule and show times.

Parks and Recreation

Arlington has 46 wonderful parks to choose from for boating, walking, golf or picnics. Listed below are some of Arlington's best.

River Legacy Parks
701 NW Green Oaks Blvd.
Located in North Arlington and considered the crown jewel of all Arlington's parks, River Legacy is 950 acres of natural landscape winding along the Trinity River, complete with playground, hike and bike trails, picnic areas. The second Saturday of each month offers guided nature tours of River Legacy. Park naturalists will show you the local flora and fauna. Tours begin at 10 a.m. at River Legacy Living Science Center. Park is open all year, free.

Lake Arlington
1516 Green Oaks
Home to Lake Arlington Golf Course, Richard Simpson Park and Bowman Springs Park, this 2,250-acre lake offers boating, fishing and other recreation activities. Open year 'round, free. Call golf course at 817-451-6101.

Randol Mill Park
1901 W. Randol Mill Road
This 149-acre park features Randol Mill Pond with ducks, geese, swans and other waterfowl, nature trails, tennis courts, playground and picnic areas. Fishing permitted. Open year 'round, free.

Veterans Park
3600 W. Arkansas Lane
This park contains a 3,000-square-foot bandshell, trails, wildlife areas, multipurpose playing fields, equestrian trails and the water-conserving Xeriscape Gardens. Open year 'round, free.
