About: Austin Country Club was founded in 1899, and its present course is the third that ACC has called home (current municipal courses Hancock and Riverside were the first two homes of Austin Country Club). Over the years, ACC was the home base of legendary instructor Harvey Penick. The current Austin Country Club course opened in 1984 and was designed by Pete Dye, whose trademark railroad ties are used in bulkheads around the course. Massive limestone slabs quarried on site are also used as revetments for tees, greens and fairways. This course features deep pot bunkers and undulating terrain, a nod to Scottish classics such as Royal Dornoch that Dye used for inspiration.
