About: Onion Creek Club was founded in 1974 by 3-time Masters champion Jimmy Demaret, and his friend and fellow Texas golfer Jimmie Connolly. Demaret designed the original OCC layout, which was updated in 1996 by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore. Onion Creek Club has a special place in golf history because it is Demaret and OCC that gave birth to the Senior PGA Tour (now Champions Tour). Onion Creek Club hosted the original Legends of Golf Tournamant in 1978, the event from which the Senior Tour grew. Crenshaw and Coore added 9 holes in 1996, giving OCC 27 holes total. Onion Creek Club is known as one of the most beautiful golf courses in Texas, with gently rolling fairways framed by huge oak, cypress and pecan trees, and Onion Creek winding through the course.
