About: Situated in the Chihuahuan Desert, at the foothills of the Franklin Mountains, Painted Dunes Desert Golf Course has long been considered one of the top handful of municipal layouts in Texas and the Southwest. The original 18 was designed by Ken Dye, with Jeff Brauer adding a new nine in 1999. The three nines are now known as the East, West and North Courses. All feature rolling fairways of green and undulating greens, many protected by deep bunkers, within the desert. The three different combinations of nines each play to slightly more than 6,900 yards from the tips and a par of 72.
