About: The Courses of Clear Creek is on the massive Fort Hood military installation, next door to Killeen and Copperas Cove, but it is open to the public. The Courses of Clear Creek is a 31-hole facility; 27 of those holes come in the form of three regulation nines that go by the names of Armadillo Hills, Deer Run and Panther Claw. There's also a 4-hole children's course named Rattlesnake Ridge. The original holes here opened in 1948; additional holes were built in 1970. Perry Maxwell, Press Maxwell and Leon Howard all had a hand in designing the respective nines.
