The layout includes fairways split by creekbeds, stands of live oaks and granite "batholiths," or rock outcroppings. Tees are positioned close to the preceding green, making the course more walkable, and cross hazards are kept to a minimum to allow run-up shots and make the course more playable for less skilled golfers.
