About: Island Oaks Golf Club is located "1 1/4-mile south of the blinking light." If you have to ask which blinking light, then you're not in Idalou. Island Oaks Golf Club does have two islands in collections ponds, and it does have oaks. The oaks haven't grown in yet and do not yet have much effect on play so far. Planted along most fairways, they eventually might serve as windbreaks, but for now the wind plays a very big role here. One women's tee box is situated on one of the "islands," but otherwise the islands and ponds don't come into play. Island Oaks Golf Club is very unusual for a small-town 9-holer in that it features some true length. One par-3 is 215 yards, a couple par-4s are in the 450-yard range. Played twice for 18 holes, this track tips out at over 7,200 yards, and carries a 73.4 course rating.
