About: Brackenridge Park Golf Course, just outside Downtown San Antonio, is one of the most historic courses in Texas. It opened in 1916, designed by A.W. Tillinghast, and its stone clubhouse opened in 1923. The course and the clubhouse have hosted the likes of Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Sam Snead and many other legends over the years. Brackenridge was the site of a players meeting in 1916 that led to the creation of the PGA Tour, and it hosted the PGA Tour's Texas Open for many, many years. From the championship tees, the course is 6,185 yards long and a par-72. It's considered one of the easiest courses in San Antonio because it is short and flat. It's an easy walk and very popular with seniors and youth golfers alike. But there are quite a few holes at Brackenridge Golf Course where tall, majestic trees make for tight driving conditions. Anyone spraying drives can find trouble.
